THE REMINISCENCE OF A HISTORICAL SEETING – For more information please use this link: Humaneus.ch

At the heart of its mission, the HUMANEUS Center invests an existing or barely discovered national archaeological framework (Pompeii, Karnak, Angkor, etc.) to extend it and present it in a unique way to the world. All the specificity of the operation of the HUMANEUS Center and its originality in the dialogue it can initiate with the general public can thus be expressed around a concept of this type.

Reconstructing part or all of a historic setting in hard, life-size form – just as it was when it was built – allows the general public and specialists to live a fantastic journey into the time period and history of the site. If, in total immersion, the visitor or scientist can, in a reconstructed setting, see this archaeological space come to life again, observe crowds of people from the past wandering about, experience the ambient heat, the sounds, the movements, the scents that animate its alleys, witness the simple life unfolded by its procession of images, or on the contrary, witness significant historical events, then his/her understanding of the past of this place and its specific role will be extraordinarily reinforced.

This reconstruction is now possible thanks to new technologies as never before.

LIDAR captur System

The reminiscence of a historic site opens up an absolutely extraordinary field of research which leads to the development of thematic projects and the creation of new experimental frameworks – presented to the general international public – which complement and extend the work and enhancement of the designated historic site.

As an example and in addition to the reminiscence project: THE SAND ROAD

From China to Russia, passing through the Gulf countries and the Middle East: all nations have a special relationship with sand, this precious material.
In the same way as for silk, it is possible – through time and history – to trace the Sand Road and simple or refined productions made from it. More than a simple raw material, sand and its derivatives are an authentic civilizational marker. From Antiquity to today and all the more so to tomorrow, the sand road links the past to the future, and so-called traditional techniques to futuristic technologies.
